Big Island Weather

While you'll find seasonal climate changes on the Big Island of Hawaii, your location on the island will have a much greater influence on the weather you are likely to encounter. There are 21 distinct climate zones on the Big Island, ranging from desert to tropical forest. Understandably, many of the Big Island's better resorts are located on the sunny Kona Coast. This area of the island gets less than an inch of rain a month during the summer months and 1-3 inches during the winter. High temperatures only change a few degrees during the year, around 80 F (27 C) during winter and 84 F (29 C) during the summer.
